Hair | John Frieda Frizz Ease Products Review

* PR Samples *Spomsored

I was very kindly sent these products by one of my favourite hair care brands 'John Frieda' for review. After discussing with someone in their PR Team what my hair's status was i was recommend the John Frieda Frizz Ease range. I have used Frizz ease original serum since i was a child so i was excited to try more items from the range. I found myself loving two of the products i was sent and my 2 favorite's were the stylists picks too, so that was assuring....

*John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo

The first thing i noticed about the shampoo is the sleek design but it was the amazing aroma that had me getting flashbacks from my childhood. It reminded me of a shampoo my mom used on me as a child after we used to go swimming together. The shampoo helps to leave a sweet fresh smell on your hair.
The directions are to:
Lather into your hair (like with all shampoos of course)
It promises to:
Nourish each and every strand of hair to replenish lost moisture and restore the hair's natural defense against frizz. It Contains Frizz-Mending complex and natural olive oil which helps fight all levels of frizz with added nourishment and a moisture boost. Leaving your hair silky, shiny and very manageable ensuring your hair is super smooth. The lightweight formulations don't weigh your hair down but deliver exceptional results.

My overall Review:
I found this shamppo was so good i only had to shampoo just the once to achieve squeaky clean and fresh hair. Most shampoo's recommend you shampoo your hair twice so i proceeded to shampoo my hair twice using around a five pence size of product, a little goes a long way. My hair was left feeling super soft and very clean and not only that but it helps to tame my hair and reduce frizz, something i rarely find with shampoo, its usually conditioner that fixes that problem. Overall i really like this, and especially that i did not have to use a lot of product as it lathers up nicely. I am very pleasantly surprised by this shampoo and will definitely be repurchasing again.

John Frieda Smooth Start Hydrating Conditioner

Again this conditioner has a delightful smell, you notice the aroma the moment you flip the lid open, but to myself the shampoo smells stronger which i like. Either way using both products together leaves an amazing smell on your hair.
The directions are to:
Apply to wet hair after using the John Frieda Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo, Smooth through wet hair and rinse out, follow with the serum.
It promises to:
It's specially formulated for all hair types and hair colors. It nourishes each and every strand of hair to replenish lost moisture and restore the hair's natural defense against frizz. Just like the shampoo it contains a unique Frizz-Mending Complex, together with natural olive oil to fight all levels of frizz with added nourishment and a moisture boost. Ensuring your hair is given a smooth start leaving hair silky, shiny and highly manageable, without any residue.
My overall Review:
I left this on for four minutes, it actually had no time limit or instructions for how long it should be left on (Which is usually helpful) but i always make my own rules when it comes to my conditioner. So after leaving to penetrate my hair for four minutes i was amazed at how unbelievably soft my hair was, i could instantly feel it making my hair soft the moment i applied it to my hair from my roots all the way to the to my tips. My hair was significantly less frizzy. This is a huge contender in my top conditioners, i have only used it a few times since receiving it but am already in love with it. It's a definite re-purchase for me and i would highly recommend for anyone with hard to tame dry frizzy hair. The most recent time i used it i did not apply the serum afterwards and left my hair to just naturally dry, it remained about 90% tamed from frizz, but to me you need an extra leave in conditioner & finishing gloss to remove frizz all together.

Frizz Ease Extra Strength Formula Hair Serum

In all honestly i did not like this as much as the shampoo and conditioner, or the original Frizz ease serum. I found it to be heavy on my hair just like the Organic Root Stimulator Serum. My hair was left greasy and refused to blow dry straight and sleek at all. The frizz however was tamed and controlled by the product, however i would rather a bit of natural frizz over greasy hair anyway, but that is my personal preference.  From other reviews this product has worked wonders on other hair types but i'm thinking maybe its because of my mixed afro hair type that this did not work so greatly on me? The original hair serum is much better and a lot lighter so i would recommend that one over this, why change the already great formula thats worked for years. The next couple of times i used the shampoo & conditioner without applying the serum afterwards and my hair felt so much better, softer and more manageable.

It promises to:
Instantly and dramatically transforms coarse, wiry, unruly frizz for ultra-sleek, purely polished, super shiny results. A high-potency blend of silicone's infused with Algae extract and Silk protein. Leaves dry, defiant hair extremely supple, easy to manage and healthy-looking. It Repels humidity to help prevent weather-related frizz and contains a UV filter.

Score= 2/5 (Original formula 4/5)

My Hair Results Before & After
Yes i am rockin' my natural makeup free baby face (check out my mommy panda eyes lol). In the After photo i hadn't even brushed my hair and you can see how much the products tamed my hair already and i didn't finger detangle or comb in the shower. My problem is that my hair gets very very dry and brittle (but it is improving now i have started my natural hair journey) and my scalp is very sensitive. I find water really dries my Mixed/Afro hair out, so usually even after shampooing it looks frizzy and straw like. I am very pleased with how the results look and i think you would be too if you hair is anything like mine, dry, frizzy and at times unmanagable. I feel even more confident now with my hair than i did before.

For me the Frizz Ease line by John Frieda is my favourite and the best for my dry frizzy hair, i didnt get on well with the Full repair line and the new Luxurious Volume collection isn't needed as i already have full hair. I am now going to be purchasing some more items next week in the same Frizz Ease range and will let you know how i get on with them. (Especially as boots currently have a 3 for £10 deal on all John Freida products). The items i will be purchasing are:

1.] 3 day Straight Semi Permanent Styling Spray
2.] The Secret Agent Perfecting Creme
3.] Miraculous recovery intensive masque
4.] The Overnight Serum.
