I haven't shown anyone my monthly favourites on my blog or my Instagram in a long time, and thought since i fell in love with so mnay things throughout the month of May i would share them with you all.
Let's get started off with skincare. The skincare products I have loved this month and used religiously twice a day is Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic and Ole Henriksen truth serum collagen booster. Both of these 2 together have had my skin looking amazing. My skin is naturally glowing and healthy, i have also noticed i have been less oily in my t-zone, resulting in less blemishes and needing less makeup. The skin tonic reminds me of a fresh spa, it smells divine and is even more divine on my face when gently swiping with a cotton pad. I believe Liz Earle even has this as a facial spray mist (I am so getting) its just so refreshing. I love the smell of the truth serum, fresh citrus type smells reel me in every time. I pat it into my skin twice a day after cleansing and toning,. It feels sticky when it first goes onto the skin but it soon sinks into the skin giving an instant healthy boost glow. As for the collagen side of things I already have a young looking chubby face so i haven't really noticed a difference.
Moving onto foundations... There have been 3 foundations i have loved throughout May. Chances are 9 times out of 10 I have used one of these over any of my other foundations (occasionally reaching for my Makeup Forever HD & The Givenchy Teint Couture). I have been loving minimal makeup, so light coverage foundation that looks natural on the skin is what I have lived for all month. On quick days I reach for my Chanel Les Beiges All in One Healthy Glow Fluid or my Chanel Perfection Lumiere velvet foundation. Both of these I apply with my fingers. I literally just set with a powder and head out the door. I tend to use the healthy glow fluid and layer the Lumiere velvet over the top where I want a bit more coverage. I absolutely love the smell of Chanel base products I feel like I'm floating on a cloud in a beautiful Rose garden. I get compliments asking what perfume I am wearing, and I have to tell them none it's my Chanel foundation. It's not a strong smell it just seems to mix well with my pheromones. The other foundation I have loved is the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder foundation. I purchased this thanks to the lovely Beti of makeupsessions she also helped me pick my shade and was spot on (thanks girl). I always swear by her recommendations. This foundation looks so natural on my skin and leaves a natural dewy glow.
Let's talk powders.... So I found myself gravitating towards my Hourglsss Dim light Ambient Lighting Powder, I use this after I have set my foundation and concealer with powder. I just find it gives this natural lit from within glow, and used in conjunction with the mac 138 brush (with a light hand) it doesn't look cakey. So pretty. As for blushers there are 2 I just cannot put down, the first is a cream blush by Makeup Academy, the Makeup Academy Whipped Velvet Blush in Spry. This is my perfect neutral everyday blush shade, it looks so natural on the skin and builds up colour nicely without removing any foundation, I honestly cannot recommend these enough especially for the £3 price tag, bargain! The 2nd blush I have been loving is The Tom Ford cheek colour in Love Lust. It's the most beautiful peachy shade with a hint of gold, this blush is so insanely pigmented when picked up by a brush. It's my go to summer shade. The only highlight I have been loving is the Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight Celestial Powder. It gives the most beautiful subtle highlight, I don't know why it took me so long to buy this. I actually don't own many highlighters and am super picky about them. I do have to use it lightly as i noticed it can look a bit stark on my medium skin tone if used too heavy.
Moving on to brushes..... I went back to my Hourglass no.1 powder brush for applying my face powder, as it gives a nice flawless, light dusting of powder. I swear it is the softest face brush i own. Another brush is the Mac 138 as mentioned earlier I absolutely love this brush to apply powder across my face (especially my Hourglass ambient powders), bronzer and occasionally face powder. Its so versatile. A newer brush purchase of mine is the Zoeva 114 luxe face focus brush this has been my go to brush for setting underneath the eyes.
Now on to my favourite part, eyes. I have been loving wearing eyeshadow more throughout May. I have pretty much reached for just one palette almost everyday which is my Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage quad. This is my perfect everyday palette, the shadows are some of the smoothest i have ever used and blend out like a dream (I think they are identical to Tartes eyeshadows) and the matte cream shade is honestly the most perfect cream shade out there. Oh Tom please start to make single shadows, i would stock up on a lifetime of that shade. The other eye combination i have been loving is Mac Soft Brown eyeshadow (this isn't available in the UK i had to get from states) and Chanel illusion d'ombre in Epantant on the lid. Soft brown is a warm toned brown which is a few shades darker than my skin tone so its the perfect crease shade. Epatant is a beautiful khaki green with gold shimmer, by far my favourite chanel d'ombre shadow that i own. I find the Chanel D'Ombre shadows so easy to just pat on the lid with my finger and my look is done. So simple. The Diorshow Lash Maximizer will forever be in every monthly favourites, honestly it's a product sent from angels above to help make my lashes thicker, fuller and help my mascaras to adhere meaning less transfer and flaking. This is Holy Grail for me. I honestly cannot live without this product. I decided to finally try my Mac Extended Play Gigablack Lash mascara that has been sitting in my draw untouched for months while i attempted to finish up mascaras already opened. I must say it was love at first use and it has since been my everyday go to. This beauty has made its way into my top 3 mascaras. It helps lengthen and spread out my lashes and doesn't flake at all.
Last but not least let's discuss Lips.... It has pretty much been a Mac month. I have gravitated heavily towards pink lips the past month so Mac Angel and Lovelorn have been my go to fun girly pink shades. I have also loved Yash a brown matte nude. I'm shocked I haven't reached for a single Tom Ford or Chanel lipstick all month!!! The gloss i have loved the most is Deelight cremesheen glass, it's pigmented enough to wear alone. A my lips but better shade.
