Favourites | Current Beauty Favourites #4

*Contains Mixture of Purchased & Gifted items

There are still quite a few of the same products from last month especially the Giorgio Armani and Cover FX foundation combination which i mentioned in my January Favourites. Another foundation that made it into this months favourites is an old love the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. Now as i mentioned in my original review i have a love/hate relationship with this foundation. I hate that it clings to my dry patches and enhances the lines around my mouth ( the good old laughter lines ) other than that it gives the most beautiful flawless finish to the skin. I have lost count of the amount of people who have complimented my skin the past month. I know that it is a mixture of my Skincare Regime ( which we will talk about shortly ) and the foundations i have been wearing.

I have decided to condense my monthly favourites post ( as much as i can ) as i have found that they can get quite lengthy, but i cannot help it i just get so excited and i don't like 2 minute blog posts that just say i used this and that's about it! I like to know why a product is loved, what makes it warrant a title of being a 'favourite'. I have worn makeup i would say five days out of a week over this past month, so i have quite a few items i have loved. So lets start off with base products i could not put down this month. I have been huge on skincare and i did sample some Pai skincare items but i wasn't wowed ( like i am with the face oil ) and i ended up breaking out. So, i decided to try Nuxe Paris products and my skin seems to be improving, along with the help of face masks. I have changed over to the Nuxe Eau de mousse micellaire with Rose Petals ( Nuxe micellar foam cleanser with rose petals ) for cleansing my face. OMG has this replaced my love for the Philosophy Purity cleanser as my favourite cleanser ever? It might be a bit too soon to make that offiicial so i have decided to repurchase the Purity cleanser again, to see if this trumps it or not. I love that the Nuxe is half the price of the Philosophy too! I have tried so many cleansers over the years and though i have 'liked' some, i have 'loved' very few. This cleanser is aimed at Normal to Combination skin types ( tick ) and it foams up nicely, leaving my skin feeling super clean and unbelievably soft. Honestly i think the last time that my skin felt this soft, i was a baby ( and i already have good soft skin ). Not forgetting that it smells absolutely Amazing! It has a very light and fresh rose scent, that is not too over powering! On the topic of cleansers the Sarah Chapman London Skinesis Rapid Radiance Cleanse has been a life saver in the mornings, i use it as my second cleanser but use it mostly as a mask leaving it on the skin for 2 minutes then rinsing off. My skin instantly looks radiant and less dull. Going back to Nuxe skincare, i have been on the look out for a decent daytime moisturiser that doesn't make me oily and helps to keep my skin hydrated for a couple of years now. My favourite a couple of years back was Origins make a difference Plus+ ) and though i have liked quite a few i have not been wowed. Enter the Nuxe Creme Fraiche de Beaute light ( 24hr soothing and moisturising emulsion ) which i have totally fallen head over heels in love with. It is a mix between a serum and moisturiser in texture and instantly sinks into the skin. It has surprisingly helped to soften my dry patches around my nose, something i have struggled with for a year now! I am totally in love with the smell, i cannot quite put my finger on it but it kind of smells medicinal and fresh. I'm going to see if they have a hand cream in this range also as i am 100% hooked on the fragrance. Thank you to my dear friend Kelli for recommending the Creme Fraiche line to me. She also has a blog ( www.Kellilash.com ) so check her out. Also if you are in the United States and Sign up to receive newsletters from Nuxe.com you will get 20% off of your first order.

The Hourglass Veil Primer has been the primer of choice all month, it leaves my skin so smooth and flawless and helps with my oils. I have worn foundation a lot this month and i must say i fell completely head over heels in love with one foundation, the Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle foundation. I am in the shade medium which matches me perfectly ( MAC NC25-30 skin-tone ). I know that it is aimed at more mature women, but you are never too young to start taking care of your skin and i like that it smoothes over my laughter lines. It is oil and fragrance free, contains anti ageing peptides, vitamins A, C & E and leaves a beautiful natural finish to the skin. It is a light-medium coverage foundation that is buildable and is perfect for everyday wear. For simple makeup days ( bb creme, concealer, bronzer, mascara ) i have reached for the Dior Hydra Life BB Creme. It contains an SPF of 30 and evens out the skin-tone without looking like i have anything on my face. My skin doesn't seem to agree with a lot of bb creams as they make me really oily but this one is lovely. I decided to give my Pixi by Petra Makeup Fixing Mist some more love this month and ever since i have barely reached for my MAC fix + all month. I don't find that it helps the longevity of my foundation but it helps to melt the powers into my skin, plus it is refreshing and it smells sooooo good!

I haven't loved many cheek products this month other than the ones i am already in love with. However i now see why everyone loved the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Oh Darling. I don't usually like to put 'limited edition' favourites but i honestly have not reached for any other highlight besides Becca's Champagne Pop every once in a while all month! This highlighter gives the most beautiful wet-look glow to the skin and i love to apply it with my Wayne Goss 02 Brush which is one of my all time favourite brushes. In my opinion Wayne Goss makes some of the best bushes on the market and i have to get a few more of these no.2 brushes, as i use it for highlight, setting under my eyes and even powder contouring. It really is such a brilliant multi-functional brush and if i had to recommend any Wayne Goss brush to start off with, it would be this! Keep your eyes peeled for my favourite brushes blogposts coming up shortly. Lastly my go to blush has been MAC Warm Soul  mineralize blush ( the newer packaging ). The shades are very different in the newer packaging compared to the old. It is a pretty peachy nude that adds a subtle glow to the cheeks.

Moving onto lips, i am so over the high maintenance dark lip colours and i guess i have been pretty boring this month,  mostly reaching for my tom ford lipsticks in daytime appropriate shades or my Chanel rouge coco shines, which are my favourite lipsticks ever! The lipstick that has touched my lips the most all month is the Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Native. I mentioned this lipstick in my Top 10 favourite lipsticks post, it is just such a beautiful milky baby pink, perfect for everyday. The next lipstick is another pink but a bit more neutral and that is the Tom Ford Lip Color in Pink Dusk. Once again another of my favourites and lastly the Tom Ford Lip Color Shine in Abandon, which is a sheer peachy-nude coral. All three lipsticks are incredibly moisturising on my lips. The last lip product is the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Sweet Stiletto, which is a beautiful light-medium pink lipgloss, which teams perfectly with both Native & Pink Dusk. I do find the lip glosses by Charlotte Tilbury irritate my lips and cause them to dry out and peel but i love the formula and try not to wear them for too long. Please note my lips don't do this because anything is wrong with the lipgloss, my lips are just extremely sensitive and 80% of the lipsticks out there my lips react badly too ( sucks i know ). So when i find a lipstick that doesn't affect my lips i tend to stick to them.

Lastly lets talk about my favourite item of the month 'eyeshadows'. I have been addicted to wearing eyeshadow again, really experimenting and trying to figure out the best way for working around my uneven hooded eyes. My left eye has more of an obvious hood on the outer corner as my eye sits lower ( i found out it is because i have a dimple on that side, therefor the face muscles are more relaxed ). I pretty much stopped wearing liquid liner most of the month and used darker eyeshadows to thicken my lash-line. Can you tell that i was really drawn to purple shadows throughout February? I just could not get enough. Not only does the colour purple flatter my brown eyes but its a fun way to add colour to your look. Starting with bases i am a huge lover of cream eyeshadows and this month i could not stop using the Gosh Forever eye shadow pencils in the shades 01 Silver Rose and 06 Plum. Silver rose is a taupe shade with a purple undertone and silver sheen and Plum is a deep plum purple with a grey undertone and rainbow micro glitters. The gosh forever eyeshadow crayons are twist up cream shadows that deserve a lot more recognition than they get! They are water-proof, extremely long-wearing and unbelievably pigmented and opaque. Even oily lid girls can wear these ( and i should know ). Another Cream shadow i reached for a lot is the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadow in 83 Illusoire. Now i think if you have been following me for some time you will already know how much i love the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadows. Illusoire is a pretty plum with a slight taupe hint to it and silver micro glitters.

Moving onto powders all month i pretty much reached for only one inner corner highlight and that is the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Eyeshadow in Caramel, which is a beautiful light true gold. I decided to shop my eyeshadow stash and fell back in love with the Kiko Clics System Infinity eyeshadows. In particular the shades 246 - Pearly Dark Wisteria and 214- Matte Desert Sand. 246 is a pretty light purple shimmer and 214 is a warm beige which is a perfect transition shade. The Clics system eyeshadows are unbelievably soft and build up colour really well. I think that Kiko are repackaging their Clics system eyeshadows and palettes, so i cannot wait to see the new designs. Lastly being obsessed with purple shadows i used my ChiChi Sultry Glamourous Eye Shadow Palette. Mostly using the first two thirds of the palette. When swatched these shadows come off chalky and patchy, but they actually apply on the lid so much better than they swatch. They are smooth, pigmented and surprisingly long wearing, i even wore these on my eyes on a night out with a lot of drink and heat involved lol. Not bad for a drugstore eyeshadow palette. I was sent this palette a couple of years ago in a beauty swap but have only just started using it.

I guess you could say these are my winter to spring transition shades. Purple & Taupe on the eyes, Light Pink on the lips and Nude on the cheeks. What colours do you tend to reach for in a transition period?
