Skincare | Bravura London & Aurelia Moisturisers For Sensitive Skin

Following on from part 1 of moisturisers for oily-combination skin i guess you could these two are the 'target treatment moisturisers' as both's purpose is to deal with skin problems. We all have problems with our skin from time to time, and finding the right moisturisers to help heal our skin and nurse it back to health, can be quite a difficult task. Especially when you don't know exactly what you are looking for or have an understanding of the ingredients. My problem is that i have rather high standards, i want the whole world and more from my moisturiser. Not only does it have to target any skin issue i may have but it also has to deeply hydrate, whilst being lightweight and preventing my skin from getting congested and oily. I cannot stand a moisturiser that feels like a tacky layer on the skin. When i entered my thirties my skin changed, it suddenly went from being oily my whole life to combination and all of a sudden i had dry patches and was experiencing acne. I set out to find a moisturiser that would not only treat breakouts but balance out my skin, so i have enjoyed putting these two to the test.....

Bravura London Azulene Moisturiser - 50ml - £9.90

I first discovered the wonderful British born skincare brand 'Bravura London' through my lovely friend Binita of HiddenHarmonyWorld at the beginning of the year. The Azulene Moisturiser was one of the first products i purchased from them after reading the ingredients. I was really shocked at how affordable everything by this brand was! Amanda who is the founder of Bravura, is one of the sweetest ladies i have ever had the pleasure of getting to know. I always find it inspiring when i come across mothers in the beauty industry who have the desire to start their own business. Amanda definitely has the passion, wit, intelligence and business-head to make a successful career and business. I absolutely adore the pretty and captivating packaging that Bravura uses, with their bright colours and sleek glass jars they are a brand that appeals to every age group and both male and female clientale.

Bravura describes this cream as a unscented, light emollient cream that is ideal for those with problem and oily/combination skin. It looks thicker in the tub than it feels, the consistency is surprisingly light without feeling at all heavy on the skin or leaving a greasy film. It's hydrating enough to nourish the skin but also lightweight enough to wear everyday underneath makeup. I have noticed that when i use this moisturiser i produce less sebum throughout the day, and my skin feels and looks more balanced. Scent wise it has a slight medicinal scent - kind of reminds me of Conotrane cream ( which i swear by for my kids ). It's all natural goodness with no added fragrance which i like, and it makes it perfect for those with extremely sensitive skin or those who get overwhelmed with fragrance on their face. Azulene is lightweight enough to be absorbed almost instantly into the skin yet creamy enough to glide over the skin with no tugging or pulling, making it ideal for more mature women also. However i wouldn't say that this is anti-ageing so if you are more mature i would advise this more for day use with a good sunscreen and a more targeted anti-ageing cream for night. Though the moisturiser is blue, no dye has been added to it, its actually blue because of the result of the Azulene plant. Note it does not stay blue on the skin - for those of you who have asked me. The cream is nourishing and soothing. I really like that it doesn't have a huge long list of ingredients, yet it has plenty of beneficial ingredients that are great for the skin.

Some of the ingredient are:

- Aloe Vera - Which is a bio active treatment that soothes, moisturises and softens the skin.
- Hops Extract - ( often used in beers ) has antibacterial benefits for the skin and it helps to balance oils.
- Rosemary Leaves Extracts - Which soothes irritated skin and is a powerful antioxidant that protects against free radicals.
Azulene - Which is named after the spanish word for 'blue' ( Azul ) which is an organic compound derived from the steam distillation of Camomile. The oil obtained from this steam distillation is regarded as a useful ingredient for both its lustrous blue colour and it's wide array of healing properties.
Then there is also hazelnut, wheatgerm and avocado oils....

If you are looking for a simple gentle moisturiser with few ingredients, or you are oily-combination acne prone you will love this. It's also super affordable and soothes skin problems like Rosacea and Acne. Would i repurchase? Yes, not only does it do what it claims but it's also the best quality affordable moisturiser i have tried yet!

Aurelia Probiotic Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser - 60ml - £42

The Aurelia Probiotic Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser is by far the richest and thickest moisturiser i have used. Due to this consistency i have noticed that a little goes a very long way - which makes this beauty very cost effective. The first thing you will notice is just how small the jar is compared to the others, but it actually contains 60ml which is 10-20ml more product than most standard moisturisers. Aurelia have focused more about the amount of product rather than wasting money on packaging that tricks the eye. Which i must say that i like, well done Aurelia. The Aurelia Probiotic Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser is packed full of some wonderful ingredients.....

- Probiotics ( as the name would suggest )
- Baobab - Which is rich in Omegas 3,6 and 9
- Kigelia Africana extract - Which is Soothing and firming
- Mongongo Oil - Which is a great source of Vitamin E and fatty acids, which helps to regenerate the skin
- Hibiscus - Which fights oxidative
- Aloe Vera - is a bio active treatment that soothes, moisturises and softens the skin

Personally i really enjoy using this moisturiser in the colder months. It is a bit too thick for use in the warmer months for me personally; but even though it is rich it does not feel at all greasy or heavy on the skin - maintaining it's light texture from the Aloe Vera. It really is a luxurious treat for the face. It really helps to soothe the skin and give it a beautiful dewy glow. My skin is left feeling super smooth and looks more plump and radiant. Aurelia was a new brand discovery for me this year and so far i have loved both the Aurelia Probiotic Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser and the refine & polish miracle balm. I really like that Aurelia are a British company, and they fuse science with the best botanical and organic ingredients, for an innovative skincare result. All of the packaging is 100% recyclable and all of their products are free from a number of harmful and unethical ingredients like: synthetic fragrances, colorants, parabens, mineral oils, silicones, sulphates, propylene glycol, phthalates, GMO, PEGs, TEA, DEA, MI, formaldehyde, urea, mercury, lead and bee venom, plus they are cruelty free! I think this moisturiser works great for every skin-type and those with sensitive skin will love it also. Those with dry skin will love this all year round. Would i repurchase? Yes for winter time use. With how little product you need, it works out a good long-lasting skincare investment.
