Mintd Luxury Beauty Box | March Edit - Spring Clean

I have been drooling over the contents in the Mintd beauty boxes on Instagram since they came onto the scene last summer. Unlike other beauty boxes Mintd Beauty boxes consist of only premium brands, which are stocked on a variety of premium sites like Space NK, Selfridges, and Beauty Expert to name a few. I personally hold the 'quality over quantity' rule when it comes to the beauty products i use, especially with skincare. So Mintd really spoke to me on a personal level. I have been lucky over the years that i have had many subscription boxes sent to me and i find that they tend to be hit or miss (sadly for me, mostly miss). Many bombard us all over social media with hyped up mediocre quality products, therefore upon receiving they have failed my expectations and i stopped purchasing beauty boxes. Then i discovered the British luxury beauty box by Mintd. I will admit i did gulp a little at the £65 price tag! But i soon realised that for that price I was not only receiving 4-5 generous (full and travel) sized products but was also receiving a wonderful and unique experience with the Mintd beauty team (hey Cheryl). One thing i have noticed over the years with beauty boxes is that if it seems a little 'too good to be true' it often is. What a lot of beauty box companies don't tell us is that the products within them are actually old stock, where as with Mintd everything is globally on trend NOW and are by well respected premium, high-end skincare, makeup and haircare brands. With Mintd you really can buy luxury.

"At Mintd box we aim to inspire & encourage women from all walks of life to own their presence, reveal their inner beauty through experimentation and discovery of new luxury beauty brands. We believe that every women deserves to feel confident and in control of her day"

With Mintd each month you can expect to receive a perfectly packaged box tailored to fit your lifestyle, and of course help fix your beauty obsession. This is the first beauty box i have used that offers only full size or generous sized travel-size products. No annoying teeny little samples that last just one use, or get lost at the back of your drawers and forgotten about! The box is exquisitely packaged in a luxurious white box and wrapped with perfect precision (i must admit that this satisfies my ocd tendencies lol). It just oozes sophistication, thoughtfulness and class. I really respect a company that takes their time to make sure the entire experience is special. One thing i really like about Mintd Boxes is that each monthly box has it's own theme, which gives a unique spin on the 'traditional' beauty box. The month of March's beauty box is called "Spring Clean" because Spring isn't just for cleaning up your home, its for spring cleaning all aspects of your life, including your skincare routine.

As i mentioned above March's box is themed "Spring Clean" with the aim that all the products will help your skin transition from winter to Spring. So say Goodbye to dry, dull lacklustre winter skin and hello to gorgeously glowing, fresh-looking healthy skin for in time for Spring. Who doesn't want to start the season off with refreshed and renewed skin, like you was born with it? (you know i just sang the Maybelline "maybe shes born with it" tune then). Every product is handpicked by the wonderful beauty staff at Mintd with the aim to help brighten, exfoliate and hydrate your skin throughout the climate shift. This months box consists of 3 full sized products and one travel size. I know that £65 may seem expensive but if you break down the price of each product individually (as i have done for you in this post) it really does end up being worth your while. In fact this month one of the products in the box is worth more than the price of the entire box! Personally when it comes to beauty products for myself, i really research in depth (scrutinising every little detail, i know... its a problem but I'm a perfectionist), but i guess it's also good because then i only recommend what i feel is the best of the best on the market. With subscription boxes it really does comes down to personal preference, however i am very impressed with the products in my Mintd Beauty Box and can also confidently say that i am enjoying every single product. I have to say that is a first for me! So, lets take a look at what goodies are is inside this months box...

Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream | Full Size 48g - Retail Value of £40

The innovative Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream is a deeply hydrating probiotic multivitamin for your skin in cream form, that helps to maintain a healthy complexion from day to night. Tula claims that it it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and improve your skins suppleness over time. This i won't be able to comment on as at 33 i still have no fine lines or wrinkles anywhere, besides a few fine lines under my eyes (i guess good skincare pays off). I like that the texture of the moisturiser is lightweight enough for daytime wear, yet rich enough to deliver regenerative hydration overnight. Packed full of Tula's signature probiotic technology it helps to leave your skin balanced and nourished, and is suitable for all skin types and ages; Especially for those seeking hydration and repairative anti-ageing benefits. I have only been using this moisturiser 5 nights out of 7 for the past week, but i wanted to give first impressions on this post. I am incredibly fussy about the moisturisers i use, because many don't agree with my somewhat-sensitive, easily congested skin. Usually before the end of the first week of use, i will experience breakouts if it does not agree and thankfully my skin has reacted well to this. I really like that the texture is creamy but lightweight enough to be absorbed into the skin pretty quickly, leaving behind no greasy or tacky residue. As i have oily-combination skin and the weather is starting to warm up a little, this might suffocate my skin a little in the day time so i have reserved it exclusively for night time use. If you have normal to dry skin you would enjoy this during the day also. The scent is wonderfully light and has a very subtle floral hint to it that's soft and not at all overpowering. When i wear this overnight i find that i wake up to plump, firm and clear looking skin that feels incredibly soft and hydrated. I cannot wait to see how i like this a few months down the line. So keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming full review soon. I have been harassing the poor Tula PR team through Twitter and Instagram for a couple of years now to bring their products to the UK. So i am ecstatic that they are finally accessible here. I have the illuminating serum, exfoliating treatment mask and the revitalising eye cream on my radar for my next purchases.

Su-Man Velvet Skin Brightening Serum | Full Size 30ml - Retail Value of £98

I was extremely happy when i saw the Su-Man Velvet Skin Brightening Serum in my beauty box, as it is one of my favourite face serums and even made it into my Best of 2016 favourites. It has graced this blog a fair few times now which i reviewed in more detail here. For £98 it's not cheap but in my eyes it's worth every penny. The Su-man serum is a silky-smooth, innovative essence serum-hybrid that helps to deliver a boost of radiance, comfort and extreme velvety softness to the skin. Described by Elle magazine as liquid rose petals (though note it doesn't have a strong rose scent for those sensitive to fragrance) it will honestly leave your skin feeling smoother than a babies bottom. The premium serum blend is packed full of antioxidants, omegas, hyaluronic acid, traexamic acid, ceramides and dragons blood extract (which is a Chinese plant not a real dragon btw lol). Over time it helps to diminish the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and is a lovely anti-ageing elixir for a firmer and brighter complexion. There is a reason it's one of my most recommended serums, but i also know that it is not in everyones price range. Which is why purchasing this beauty box is worth your while as the price of this serum alone is worth more than the price of the box.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, Cassia Alata Leaf Extract, Tranexamic Acid, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Propanediol, Croton Lechleri Resin Extract, Glycosphingolipids, Phospholipids, Cholesterol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Chlorphenesin,Fragrance(Parfum), EthylAscorbic Acid, Methylisothiazolinone, Linalool Benzyl Salicylate, Red 40 / CI 16035

Oilixia Australian Kakadu Plum Gummy Facial Cleanser | Full size 75ml - Retail Value of £24

This is a brand i had only heard of briefly though Express News last month (see here) and it wasn't until i received this beauty box that i learnt the concepts behind the brand and its passion for the laid back natural beauty of Australia. A unique and innovative brand that even The Beauty Shortlist noticed, with them receiving some awards this year. Though inspired by Australian ingredients and laid back vibes Oilixia products are made here in the UK (which of course means no animal testing, hooray). The brand uses little known ingredients and natural oils from around the world especially Australia, with well known skincare benefits. The Oilixia Kakadu Plum Gummy Facial Cleanser features Kakadu plum extract which originates from Australia's Kimberley region and known as one of the best natural resources of vitamin C. It's also rich in phenolic acid (a type of phytochemical called polyphenol) and helps to gently exfoliate the skin for smoother texture and a brighter appearance. Also included in this unusual gummy-textured blend is Almond, Apricot and Macadamia oils to help nourish and condition the skin, along with Eucalyptus which has fantastic antibacterial properties and is also where it gets it's refreshing and uplifting menthol scent from. The texture and scent of this reminds me of vicks vapor rub, though much much softer and milder in scent of course. It really is like no cleanser i have ever tried before with its unusual gummy, tacky texture. Simply apply a 5 pence piece amount to the face and neck until it turns tacky (this helps to lift off impurities) then simply apply the tiniest amount of water to get to emulsify to a milk, which spreads over the face like a dream. Then rinse with warm water and enjoy refreshed, deeply cleansed, sebum-free smooth skin that feels normal but not at all dry or taught with zero residue. If you have oily skin i highly recommend this cleanser. The texture of the cleanser is something to get used to, but i find it a fun experience. This product excited me so much I'm now lusting after their Amazonian Cacay Facial Oil next.

Patchology SmartMud No Mess Mud Masques | Travel Size ( 4 Masks ) - Retail Value of £24

The Patchology SmartMud No Mess Mud Masques offer an innovative take on the traditional mud mask. No more dipping your finger into a pot and messily applying all over your face. The Patchology mud masks are inspired by Korean sheet masks but instead of being a hydrating mask covered in a serum or ampoule, its covered in a mud solution (Korean jeju volcanic ash, bentonite clay and kaolin) to help detoxify and purify the skin, removing impurities. You get all the benefits of a mud mask but without the messy sink to clean up, tightness and flaking everywhere. The actual sheet mask comes in two parts, which is brilliant to suit many face shapes. It is somewhat messy and awkward to apply as the mask sheet comes in between a white and clear plastic. The white plastic gets peeled off first, then apply the mask side soaked in the mud solution to the skin then peel off the clear layer. It is somewhat fidgety to do and does move around, but its extremely thin and easy to work with to move back into place. It does mean your hands get a bit messy though. The material of the mask itself reminds me of gauze that you use on a body cast and the scent of the mud is delightful with a soft natural mix of floral and herbal scent. Simply leave on for 10 minutes you will feel a very slight amount of tingling, nothing extreme or at all irritating just means it's doing it's working it's magic. Then peel it off and rinse with warm water to be left with clear, purified, sebum free skin. I notice a huge difference in my sebum production and pores after using this mask. I really enjoy using this mask and have used two already (one a week). I will definitely purchase more of these in the future and continue to use twice a month. I will be following up with a more in depth blogpost on these masks shortly.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Inositol, Trehalose, Taurine, Phenoxyethanol, Betaine, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Hydrolyzed Pea Protein, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Peucedanum Ostruthium Leaf Extract, Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Glyceryl Caprylate, Xanthan Gum, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexyglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance (Parfum).
