Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Collection Review

Damage caused to our skin over time can lead to dull, dehydrated and tired-looking skin. Perricone MD is renowned for its efficacious anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing skincare, as well as it's supplements range to help combat these skin issues. Dr Nick Perricone recently added a new line to the renowned Perricone MD Army called the H2 Elemental Energy™ Collection. The collection contains a comprehensive range of lightweight and fast-absorbing products that help to provide extremely hydrating results, leaving the skin feeling re-energised and looking more radiant. The entire line is powered by Hydrogen (which Perricone MD are naming its H2 Energy Complex™ ) and is apparently known to be the smallest molecule in the universe. This stable form of hydrogen is incredibly powerful at helping each product to rapidly-absorb into the skin, helping to activate and energise skins cells to add vitality back into the skin by delivering a powerful boost of hydration. Not only are the scientific results actually effective in this entire line but the packaging is equally as stylish, and rather unique. It just screams modern-day science.

I feel that this is a collection that will work for every skin type that suffers with dehydrated skin. However i feel that it is ultimately beneficial for those with Normal, Combination and Oily skin, simply because of the lightweight textures and that all of the products contain no pore-clogging or congesting ingredients. Though dry skin-types could also use these products, i feel they won't give substantial enough nourishment to the skin, that dry skin-types really need. So i would recommend layering an oil over top (like this or this) to really help combat any dryness you may have on the surface layer of your skin, and to lock in all the moisture. I was very kindly sent 4 out of the 5 products from the line 6 weeks ago, upon it's initial release in the USA. The only product i don't own from the line is the Advanced Renewal Infusion Serum, which will be retailing in the UK shortly for a whopping £210 - *Gulp! Yes i am pulling my shocked face! I was aware of this line for a good month before it even released and i was super excited impatiently counting down the days for its PR event and initial release. Each product within the line is created to work simultaneously together in light layers to provide deep hydration, that will last all day long. I can honestly say that since i started incorporating these products into my skincare routine, my skin has never been as balanced as it currently is! I most definitely put it down to these products! I have tested these products everyday for 6 weeks now (with the exception of the mask), so i thought that i would finally share my thoughts on each of the products (in the order of which i use them) and let you know which ones are worth the investment....

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Firming Foam Mask* - £48/$50 for 100ml | The first thing i noticed is that there is no cleanser in this line, which to be honest Perricone didn't need as they already own an amazing selection of cleansers (all but 1 i already own). I'm pretty new to the foaming mask game and despite owning a small collection in my bathroom cabinet, the only one i have used (and thoroughly enjoyed) is the Radical Skincare Instant Revitalising Mask. The lovely Veronica insisted that i test out the firming face mask as she loved it so much, so of course valuing her credible recommendations i tested it out, and now i see why she loves it so much! The Firming Foam Mask comes in a sleek airtight pump container and the amount of product you get is amazing (100ml to be precise, most brands will offer 50ml for this price point).  It dispenses out as a rich gel texture which is incredibly cooling on the skin, (the total opposite of this Perricone MD Mask, which heats up) and begins to turn into a delicate yet rich and dense foam almost immediately with the slightest tingling sensation. I like that the foam doesn't dissolve/evaporate too quickly like with some 'foaming' masks, and the rich texture does a great job of preventing it from running into your eyes, nose or mouth. If you could put your face in a cool fluffy cloud, I'm guessing it would probably feel something like this!? It's one of those face masks that you notice immediate results with after rinsing. The Perricone MD Firming Foam Mask* is not only fun to use, but it really works to help your skin feel and look amazing! Skin is left feeling hydrated, invigorated, refreshed, soft, soothed and moisturised. It also smells delightful. If your looking for a mask to give instant brightening and firming results, then i highly recommend this. It's now a firm staple in my beauty cabinet. This is a face mask that is gentle enough to be used everyday, however i only mask when needed. At present i am enjoying using this once a week. Perricone now have 4 face masks in their collection, all of which i thoroughly enjoy. Though i have yet to try the Chloro Plasma.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Booster Serum* - £80/$100 for 30ml | The Most Expensive product of the 4 i own, and at first it was my least favourite. Not because it's a bad product, but because for the price point, the texture and the amount of product i have to use! Surely i could use a more affordable hyaluronic serum like this and this to get the same hydration right? I'm so used to my serums being power houses that combine a multitude of ingredients to target an array of different skin issues, so i just didn't find that this wowed me..... However, the longer i used it the more i became to love it, especially when used in conjunction with the Hydrating Cloud Cream. The serums pros is that it is super lightweight which absorbs instantly and gives your skin an instant boost of hydration. Those who dislike sticky or tacky serums will love this. Its's also especially effective if you are someone who is short of time and needs your skincare routine to be quick and efficient. The container is also airtight which makes it fantastic for travel with no risk for spillage. Now for the cons, though i do find that this does a fantastic job of hydrating my skin, the texture is just far too watery for my personal taste. Fluid textures that are almost water-like with no viscosity are brilliant for penetrating the skin quickly, but because of the texture i find that i have to use a lot of product to cover my entire face and neck (3 pumps to be precise). Which sadly means i am going through the product far too quickly! I also find the pump shoots product out a little messily (because of the watery texture) and though i prefer pumps, i feel the consistency of this serum would have benefited much greater with a dropper applicator instead. I think if this would have been at a more affordable price it would be a definite constant repurchase, but because of the high price tag and the amount of product i use it's personally a little out of my financial reach. I do feel blessed to have been lucky enough to trial it. However i would definitely purchase this again at some point in the future and perhaps mix it with some of my other serums, as i found this layered really well with other serums (especially this and this). Would i say this is a must have product in the collection? I would say yes and no! Just weigh up the pro's and con's and you decide.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy De-Puffing Eye Gel* - £60/$75 for 15ml | This is not my most expensive eye cream in my collection (in fact this, this and this are!) it retails for only a few £'s more than my favourite Aesop Parsley Seed Eye Serum. The H2 Elemental Energy Eye Gel is a cooling, soothing eye gel that de-puffs and hydrates the delicate eye area. Dr Nick Perricone describes the De-Puffing Eye Gel as a preventative measure for any visible signs of ageing around the eye area, and tackles puffiness, dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. This is a fantastic eye product for those who are after a lightweight hydrator that wont irritate sensitive eyes and it also layers well with a richer eye cream over top. I also really like that it is Fragrance-Free as i have extremely sensitive eyes, strong fragrance often irritates them. It works for all skin types and i believe all ages too, helping to provide immediate, soothing hydration. I spent a fair amount of last month crying after i tragically lost a family member, and this eye cream really helped to reduce the puffiness i woke up with every morning. Initially i wasn't sure at first that the gel texture would give my super dry under eyes enough moisture, but boy-oh-boy, was I wrong! It feels incredibly delicate and silky to the touch, and had my under eyes feeling extremely hydrated and moisturised all day! Even throughout allergy season where my eyes tend to be more dry, itchy and inflamed. A little really goes a long way with this, and concealer applies like a dream over top (i actually had less creasing and didn't use a powder to set). I actually find myself looking forward to applying this to my under eyes every morning. If you are after a lightweight eye product that feels like a glass of water for your under eyes, has a nice cooling sensation and instantly makes your eyes feel refreshed and look visibly less puffy then i highly recommend this. Best of all if you also have extremely sensitive eyes and get milia bumps easily, you will really enjoy this. I actually found it has helped remove some of the milia bumps i had under my eyes.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream* -  £69/$80 for 50ml | Now for the Creme-De-La-Creme of this entire line *imagine angels start singing in the background. This is by far one of Perricone MD's most exciting innovations to date! The H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream features a luxurious, lighter-than-air formula that provides a superior hydrating experience and true efficacy. It's incredibly unique in that it addresses the needs of dehydrated, dull, tired-looking skin without being heavy or pore-clogging, which can result in breakouts. The revolutionary formula helps to infuse hydration to skin that is lacking in water, to help you achieve healthy, hydrated and youthful looking skin; Where as most traditional moisturisers target skin types lacking in oil. This was the product i was most excited about getting my hands on and i must say that it exceeded my already high expectations! This moisturiser is simply amazing and I have found myself reaching for this every single morning over every other moisturuiser i own, including this and this (which are long-time favourites)! It feels so lightweight on the skin and cool to the touch, similar to the Blithe Pressed Serum - Crystal Iceplant but much more whipped. The Perricone Hydrating Cloud Cream is the ultimate lightweight hydrator for those with combination and oily skin. It helps to provide the skin with intense hydration that feels featherlight on the skin and absorbs instantly, leaving the skin feeling cool, refreshed and awake. Before you know it your skin will be balanced and clear. This is the product that has worked in conjunction with the serum to make a huge difference to my dehydrated skin. Not just in this line, but in my entire skincare routine! For the first time in years my skin feels normal... not oily, not combination, but perfectly balanced and normal. It was definitely a new feeling to get used to after being combination and oily my entire adult life! I also noticed i have been breaking out much as well. I honestly could not see myself living without this moisturiser in my life now and it will forever be a repurchase for me, for as long as my skin continues to love it! In fact this is everything i wished the Bliss Drench 'n' Quench to be, only this feels much less silicone like and absorbs a million times better. So if you liked that moisturiser, you will LOVE this!
